You're home shouldn't just

look great,

it should function great.

Kris entered our house with her friendly energy and sparkle, and that's exactly what she added to our home with her thoughtful suggestions. Sparkle! Using only what we had on hand, she updated and transformed our seventy-year-old, vintage home into a light, airy, and inviting space. Who knew that moving a few things around could make such a difference! Weeks later, I still go around and sit in each room, marveling at the transformation. Thank you, Kris!-PR Billerica

I wanted to write you a short note expressing my gratitude for your incredible ability to transform a space into an amazing place that feels like home but looks like a catalog.

I have never witnessed someone who could walk into a room and in seconds, with no tools but their eyes and amazing talent, see what is not there and what could be. I was really blown away by the fact that you took my existing items and made a showpiece without the expense and work of shopping around for things that weren’t mine.

I was told by my realtor that so many people had compliments about the decorating and look of the rooms - how open and inviting the house felt. My home sold in three days and I attribute people loving it in no small part to the transformation that you did. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

It was a true joy to work and ‘play’ with Kris. She came and transformed our home by placing pictures and other items in interesting and well thought out spaces. I recommend her to transform your home, whether it is for selling it or to just have a nicer space that you call home.

Condo Remodel After-We were able to remove all the interior walls, except the bathroom of course, to create one large space. We added texture to the walls with the spectacular faux brick wall behind the bed, horizontal shiplap throughout and vertical wood on the recessed living area wall. We removed texture too. The popcorn ceiling went smooth with recessed lights installed. We beefed up the 1970's builders grade mouldings. The entire place received new wood looking ceramic flooring for easy care.

'We had the pleasure of working with Kris as our Home Editor recently and would highly recommend her to anyone who is considering staging your home to put it on the market.

Her insight was invaluable in showing us how to give each room a purpose that a perspective buyer could identify with. We liked that she was creative in utilizing our furnishings to accomplish this.

Her detailed report was extremely helpful to keep us on track with the ideas she had presented as she did our home visit.' D&L K

‘Kris was great!’

IMG_0322.jpg
Our realtor highly recommended Kris to come in and help stage our home for selling.   We were moving out of the house we had been in for twenty yearsbefore it went on the market and had mostly older items from the attic and basement left to furnish the house.     I was doubtful that these dated, mismatched items could be put together in any way that would make ourhome look presentable to potential buyers.   I was tempted to just leave it empty, but my realtor advisedthat I consult with Kris.  She came in and worked her magic and I could not believe the results!   She is so good at what she does.    She walked through my home room by room with me, from the basement to the attic.   I told her what could remain in the house and she immediately came up with a plan to furnish each room.

I took notes and when we moved, I made sure everything was where Kris had asked us to put it.   She then came in before the real estate photographers did and met with me a second time.    We moved around some artwork to reflect what was now in each room.   She then asked if I would mind if she tweaked some things.   She flitted around the house, moving pillows and plants, artfully draping throws on beds and arranging items on shelves and tables in ways I never would have thought of doing.    She was so easy to work with and sensitive to clients’ feelings about their possessions, always asking if I minded if we did away with one thing and added a different item.   When she was finished, I couldn’t believe how amazing my house looked.

Kris is personable, professional, affordable and excellent at what she does.   Her advice even helped me think differently about decorating my new home.

Our buyers saw the house the first day it was on the market.   They loved the photos and were delighted that the house lived up to the images they saw online.   We know that Kris’ home editing had a lot to do with how beautifully our home showed and how quickly it sold.

I was dreading our move. In addition to all the stuff we had collected over the years, we also inherited quite a bit from family members for one reason or another. It was now time to downsize, which meant a lot of physical work as well the emotions involved with letting go of certain things. When our realtor recommended Kris, I was eager to meet her. I had no idea at the time just how amazing and helpful she would be.

Kris is ideally suited to being the Home Editor. She is genuine, empathetic, kind, personable and clearly passionate about her work. After she walked through the house and presented me with her assessment and recommendations, I was excited to have a picture of the end game. I was also overwhelmed with thoughts of all that needed to be done to get there which I shared with Kris. We came up with a plan where she would work with me to break the process down to manageable tasks which I would work on between her visits. A logical plan but one can lose sight of even the obvious when one is overwhelmed.

Kris was comfortable taking the lead in this process to the extent I asked her to, and I was completely confident in her. A big reason to engage Kris is that she does so many things so well. It’s clear from reading the testimonials that clients benefit differently from working with Kris. For me, it was in the process of getting rid of things. We quickly developed a system where once I decided I was not keeping an item, she took over. If it could be sold, Kris posted it online. Kris believes in donating and recycling where possible (as do I), and Kris would make arrangements and/or take items to donation organizations. I cannot overstate how valuable that was to me.

Of course, the goal of all of this was getting the house ready to sell. Kris exceeded my expectations in staging my home, which sold in just a few days for the listing price. Not only have I tried to use Kris’s ideas and principles in my new home, but I tend to think in terms of minimalism now. I never want to have the clutter I had before. I recommend anyone selling their home or wanting to declutter to engage Kris. She’s the best!

After almost 20 years, I decided to have the interior of my house completely repainted. But I’m terrible at picking out and making decisions on colors. In addition, the house has an open floor plan and all the colors needed to work together. So a friend recommended I give Kris a call.

She spent an hour with me going through the house, getting a feel for my tastes and suggesting colors that not only would I like, but would also work together and appeal to buyers down the road. She also gave me lots of other good tips about how to make small changes in décor that would tie all the rooms and color schemes together.

After her visit, I got a bunch of sample paint colors in the family of colors she suggested, but of course still couldn’t decide. So just before the painters arrived, I sent her a panicked call to come and help me finalize colors. She came right over and helped me select all the final colors.

The painters have come and gone, and I love the colors she helped me pick out! Now I’m working on some of her other decorating and decluttering tips. Her prices are very reasonable, so if you need someone with a good eye for design that can give you sound decorating advice, I highly recommend that you give Kris a call! You won’t be disappointed.

I would highly recommend Kris to help you simplify and organize your home or to get it ready for real estate sale. She had a photographic memory of my home after a walk-through and followed up with terrific written recommendations.  Kris then rolled up her sleeves and pitched in to assist in getting our home ready for sale.  It was an overwhelming task to me, and she was instrumental in helping me cross the finish line.  Kris is a kind and talented person with a “can do” attitude.  She is exactly the type of person I want on my team.  My only regret is that I didn’t reach out to her sooner to help me organize and decorate my home before we decided to move!

I can hardly believe it!  Kris was amazing, I couldn’t have met that timeline without her.  And she took part of our wall unit and made it a coffee table-my family is in awe and we are wondering why we never did that before!

Kris Vogelsang was referred to me by my realtor.  Initially, I was hesitant to have someone stage my house for re-sale because I thought I could do it myself.  However, when I heard how reasonable her rates were and how low-key she was, I decided to go ahead and give her a try.  Kris met with me for two hours, and we went through my house room by room.  She had me take notes (I had 3-4 pages worth!), and she made suggestions of ways I could de-clutter, re-arrange, and highlight positive aspects of my space.  I was, of course, free to make my own decisions ultimately, but I found that I heeded most of her advice.  For instance I had a small bedroom downstairs just off the kitchen, and she suggested that the bed and bookshelf be removed and the space be turned into a mudroom/entryway.  It made so much sense and I’ve found that I like the way it looks now - more open and welcoming.  She also suggested that I remove the beautiful carpet I had in the living room to show off the wide pine floors.  While I found the space cold without the carpet, it did highlight the beautiful floors, which are a definite asset of the house.I found Kris to be extremely professional, friendly, and savvy about house staging.  She found a delicate balance between respecting my taste and explaining the reasons for her suggestions.  In the end, it was one of the best things I did before putting my house on the market.  I highly recommend Kris for her staging services.

After almost twenty years in our house and two kids later we were ready for a home makeover but have no eye for design and decoration. That’s where Kris comes in!! We are more than happy with the results!!

Kris was very patient and listened intently to our wants and desires and asked a lot of great questions. She put together a great personal design for our living room and dining room that included a style and color scheme that we never could have thought of ourselves. The design was flexible enough to allow us to experiment and it helped us focus during our shopping sprees! More importantly she utilized a lot of our existing furniture and decorations to minimize our spending on new items.

My husband and I highly recommend Kris to anyone looking for a friendly and talented decorator to help transform your home into a pleasant and comfortable living space!

THANK YOU for your wonderful input and helping folks get organized and focus on what looks good!

After 38 years of living in our house and collecting a lot of “stuff”, we decided to move to a warmer climate. One of the biggest obstacles we faced was decluttering. Thankfully, our realtor recommended Kris Vogelsang to help us with this task.

Kris was a pleasure to work with. She pointed out what we needed to get rid of and showed us how to rearrange the furniture we kept. The results were unbelievable. The photographs were amazing. My friends could not believe the difference and remarked on how much more room we had. Kris’s advice definitely worked.  We had three full price or better offers the first weekend we listed our house for sale. Thanks to Kris and our realtor, we are now starting a new chapter of our lives in South Carolina.

If you are planning to sell your house, we highly recommend that you hire Kris.
